tion, with no regard to heritage/history or functionality. A breed can quickly be ruined in only a few years.
My own breed, the Neapolitan mastiff has been completely destroyed in about 30 years. Excessive skin everywhere, ridiculous, hippo type dogs, who can barely hobble around a show ring. A far cry from the cane da presa from rural Naples.
I hope the Boerboel doesn't go the same way! There are plenty of large, sloppy mastiffs with no drive - why don't they keep them instead.…

le bit to make the jump. He is loving the chicken. I quarter it and he goes to town. This afternoon was his first neck and he enjoyed that as well.
There have been some things I didn't think about. Clean up. It seems that there is more energy spent cleaning the floors and the puppy then preparing food. He has a hard time working with it in the bowl. Also, soap...I know they have sensitive skin as a pup. What kind of soap do you use to sanitize. Any tips and tricks?
Thank you again.

t is due to yeast overgrowth (infection). I am currently treating her with Nzymes (just started) and changed her food again. I switched from Blue Wilderness (grain free) and Biljac ( I was mixing 1/2 & 1/2 because I was switching her completely to Blue after I used up my supply of Biljac), to just Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown Rice formula. I was told that the sweet potato in the Wilderness and the Biljac is likely the culprit plus the milkbone dog bisquits she was getting daily. Oats, barley and brown rice grains are supposed to be better for them with the yeast problem. I also got her healthy organic treats. My friend swears by this lady, The Great Dane Lady. She credits her with saving her Yorkie's life so I thought I would share it with all of you. I also discovered in the process that my 21 year old daughter who has been suffering with an unknown ailment for 2 years may have it as well. She has been to so many different doctors and had tests and they keep telling her that everything is normal. Now by complete accident I find out that all of her symptoms are the same as this yeast overgrowth infection. She has developed acne, depression, anxiety, stomach aches, headaches, feelings of helplessness, nightsweats and terrible dreams, itchy dry skin and hair. It is unbelievable! She has a doctors appt next Tuesday. She will have to detoxify her body from this parasite and it will take months. I will keep you all updated on my journey. :)…
blems have disappeared. Do your research carefully about foods you are using for Zuli. And please know that not all Boerboels have issues. Nas is my second Boerboel and for the most part, he is healthy and active. All big breeds will eventually have issues, but with right supplements and diet, you can lessen the impact of muscle and joint issues. My pitbull can eat anything but the boerboel is a different case which is why we shifted them both to raw food regiment. Let me know if you want additional details about the regiment we use and I will be glad to share. Nichole…

to sit on but he usually chooses to sit on hard surfaces. Did anybody had any experience with something like that?
While searching on the internet i came across some "wraps or socks" which should help, but i was thinking that those might infect the skin more, due to poor ventilation.
Please share your thoughts
thank you

y” and found that it would give my girl diarrhea, which I could not conquer. At the same time it was also a little too expensive for me. After that I switched her to “Taste of the Wild” venison and bison formula. Even with this I still had diarrhea issues, I started blending it 50/50 with “Blue Buffalo puppy” and this helped a little with the diarrhea but I was still having issues. As of now, I have her on “Natural Balance Ultra Premium” and I am still on my first 30lb bag. I have been using cottage cheese for the last two weeks to firm up her stools, and this has worked wonders. My girl was having some skin irritations before I switched her, so I am hoping that will phase out with time and the new food.
I am still open to trying other types of Kibble, and even possibly dehydrated foods. I don’t know very much about dehydrated options, but I hope someone here who has experience with them will be able to help me out. From what I can tell, they seem expensive compared with kibble.
I would love to hear from some people who currently feed kibble. If anyone would like to share his or her experience (what you have tried kibble or dehydrated, and what you currently use and why) I would really appreciate it. I think that this would be a good place for people to share their advice on kibble and dehydrated foods. I am not currently able to offer my girl a raw diet so at this time the best option for me is either kibble or dehydrated foods. Thank you! …
She doesn't scratch at them or act like they bother her at all. We had our vet do a full blood screen and urinalysis and nothing was out of the ordinary. I thought initially it could be a thyroid issue but he said that the levels were in the "normal" range. She is eating normally. Her activity hasn't increased or decreased and she hasn't had any changes in environment other than the warmer weather. We did try a round of antibiotics to clear away any potential skin bacterial issues and have been washing her once a week with a universal medicated shampoo. Anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas?…
hey are very similar. Leeroys Grandsires are Ysterberg Sokket and Ysterberg Laksman.

Hi Shelly, I felt the same I thought I was the only aussie, Im sad about waldor dying, I didnt know he had passed away. Is your dog out of waldor? as our dogs are so alike, its like looking at a pic of Chester. Hope the raw diet works, it should as all that proccessed food is rubbish, I was buying Royal canine for a while, its so expensive but he was still having problems. I think the meat products they use in dry food are very poor quality. I buy my food from a local pet food shop who process all the meat themselves, no added nasties. Have done some reading on skin problems and they reckon apple vinegar from the health shop mixed with water and sprayed on the affected areas stops a lot of itching, I havent tried that yet as his skin is pretty good now, u can also use a mix of it for yeast ear infections, as yeast doesnt like the vinegar and wont grow, hence to problem, I will try that next time if his ears flare up. I found all the info through google, I gave him a couple of boneo dog biscuits one day and within 2 days his ears were red and sore so I know for sure its that type of food that sets its of. Anyway good luck with your diet, hopefully it should work. Speak to u soon.

months old she injured her patella. I doubled up on the Acti-Flex joint supplement and it it healed and she is now almost 2 and no sign that she ever had a luxated patella. The Nzymes I started about 3-4 months ago. My 13, (14 in Sept.) pit bull shows the most results from this fabulous product. She is spry and alert and playful. She has started begging at the dinner table again. She is just a new dog! It's literally amazing. And, I think the salmon oil is just a no brainer. It's good for everyone! I do have to add that I feed kibble. It's a good brand that I did some research on but I do feed them all (3 dogs) kibble.…
"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy. First off have you taken her to the vet? Do they know of the situation? Have they taken a urine sample? If your girl has a UTI…"
Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
