hanging the diet is one of the first steps to look at when trying to find the problem, and you then move on from there. I hope you are able to find a solution soon. A couple things to also look at below.

I got a little surprise in a litter born 2 weeks ago. A little white girl, without a single dark hair on her body. She has however a black nose, mouth, pads and skin!
everal prescription diets for this that include hydrolyzed proteins. A novel protein diet may also be a possibility (duck, venison, etc). There are many formulations available for this as well.
Another possibility is that your dog suffers from Atopy. There is a good drug out on the market called "Atopica" which your vet may be able to prescribe for treatment.
The third route is to do skin allergy testing followed by a series of injections.
I can't really say what the best route would be to go or recommend a treatment since I haven't examined your animal (I'm a vet) but I thought I'd drop some info your way. Skin allergy problems can be a long term and frustrating thing some times. Best of luck to you and your vet in getting it under control.

al for her to have skin allergy first year of her life because she is getting used to different environment. The supplement I was told to use for support of her joints is flex powder originally designed for horses, has all needed vitamins/minerals, I have to mix it with olive oil and organic honey, local in season, and she has to be on it all her life. Some never herd that honey is appropriate for dogs but breeder says that it getting her use to different poplins. Anybody herd about honey in dogs?…
ween his toes, did a lot of research and put him on a natural raw diet, no dry food at all, seems he was allergic to the wheat by products in the dog food, also the protein if poor quality can do harm, all this was done with my vets knowlwdge and approval, his skin condition has totally improved, he is nearly 4 now but have just put him back on a dry food plus he gets beef mince (spoiled boy), bones, eggs, etc. Have finally found a very good dry food, Black Hawk Holistic, lamb/chicken and rice, no wheat products at all, human grade ingredients. Expensive but worth it. I dont think this brand of food is available outside of Australia though but you should be able to get a similar kibble, when I did all my research I did find quite a few but they werent available here. We do have Hills but its full of wheat products, good luck. :)…
still feed him 1+kg of raw chicken necks a night and Black Hawk Holistic rice and lamb kibble. I'm not sure where u live but this is made in Australia. it is made with human grade products and has no bi-products at all, it also has no wheat products at all as he cant seem to tolerate it, hes been on it now for 5 weeks without a problem, his stools are fine and so is his skin condition. A local shop does have to order it for me every month and its not cheap but he loves it and it works, good luck, hopefully you will find some thing similar.…
"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy. First off have you taken her to the vet? Do they know of the situation? Have they taken a urine sample? If your girl has a UTI…"
Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
