I recently had Mason's hips and elbows evaluated and he scored very well. His elbows are clear on OFA evaluation and his PennHip distraction index scores are .40 on the left and .43 on the right. That puts him in the top 30% of the breed. He was evaluated and scored at 83.9% by SABT at about 17 months old. I plan to have him reevaluated this fall now that he has filled out a bit. As of now, he is available for stud service.
I have a 16-17 month old female BB who has had two heat cycles. The research I found indicated the best time to spay was between the second and third heat cycles balancing the slight increase in mammary cancer with the dramatic increase in bone cancer of spaying early. I have decided recently to have the spay done laparoscopically and am searching for a reasonable price. A vet I called on Long Island suggested "tacking" her stomach while inside to prevent the possibility of future "bloat". What do you think of this suggestion? She is not a voracious eater, rather ladylike and slow. She does not get any exercise within an hour of eating. We feed twice a day.
James that's awesome, I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end. How exciting it must be for you all moving into a new home. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Please keep us updated, and stay well!
I was the individual that was in front of you to get a male from the Rani x Magic litter his picture is the profile picture ( Mason).I waited nearly two years for a black male. I am writing you to discuss him with you, mostly because my female boerboel is not warming to him at all and you are a vet! I figured you would be a good person to ask. We have only had him a week and she hasn't relented at all!
James sorry to hear about that man. I know the feeling from waiting on a female pup myself. Keep your head up, and things will work out as they should.
Hi James, sorry to hear the bad news buddy, it happened to me a couple of times also, hang in there, as they say everything happens for a reason. keep your chin-up.
"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy. First off have you taken her to the vet? Do they know of the situation? Have they taken a urine sample? If your girl has a UTI…"
Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More

James,
Tell me about Mason. Where is he out of? Breeder? Parents? Size and age so far. He's a great looking pup! Thanks in advance.

I appreciate your consideration.
