Just wanted to say how impressed I am with our pup. Although she may not be registered as her parents werent. She is our first Boerboel so we are learning. But she is the most well behaved puppy Iv ever met. She has never cried etc when its time to sleep. She knew exactly where her bed was (next to ours when she was really small) and would even put herself to sleep when she was tired. She has responded so quickly to her name Roxy and I have also started basic commands with her ie sit. Which she has picked up extremly quickly. (though she is only 12weeks old now) But looks like she is definitely going to be a really amazing dog.

Gloria is 7.5 months old now and her temperament is angelic so far.  Doesn't like people coming up to the house though and let's them know with some deep grunts.

I researched BB's for over 2 years and finally bought one.  I was very nervous but I found the dogs that I liked as parents.  I  asked a lot of questions and the breeder (Electric Boerboels) was great.  They actually had questions for me as well.  They were very patient and waited until I was ready.  They allowed me to drive down and check out their kennel and their dogs.  It was a great experience, I was very fortunate.

Hmmm...now I'm not sure if you were asking ME specific questions or just general questions I'd want to go over with a breeder LOL. Oh well, I'll answer 'em anyways.

Are you just looking for a family pet? Yep, looking for a great addition to the family one day! I used to be more involved with a local obedience club, but haven't been for years. We like to hike, camp and go on little weekend adventures in the Utah outdoors...and love taking Sampson with us whenever we can!

Do you plan on doing any type of work with your Boerboel? No, not particularly. Just spreading the love of Boerboels around and being a close part of our little fam.

I wish breeders had a general way in handling things but so many are so different.  I recommend reading the above "Selecting a Breeder and a Puppy" and "Male vs. Female Guide" if you already havent.  The important thing for you is to ask as many questions as possible, and to tell the breeder what you are looking for in your boerboel.  Are you just looking for family pet?  Do you plan on doing any type of work with your boerboel?

How do breeders generally handle that?  I'm not real concerned with gender or color/markings (although I'll admit that the brindles and blacks catch my eye) and we're not interested in breeding our dogs, but personality is a biggee!  Do they just have some general questions about you/your family in order to pick a pup with a good personality fit?
