Many breeds have been changed a lot. but I think GSD is destroyed.. From what I've heard in Greece most GSD breeders have dogs with problems. Heart problems, intestinal, hip.. etc... I saw in a dog show a few GSD's and i was really sad seeing them this way, it felt like if they are crippled..... I used to have one from my birth till i was 7-8 years old.. So I remembered this breed like if it is another breed from the today's GSD...
Another breed here that is really changed is the pit bull... Here most pit bulls weigh above 30 kilos. 30-40.. Cause they ain't pit bulls. They are pits with mastiff in their blood... from what i know at least... And here they think that is a pit bull. If they see an original pit they think it's a puppy or a mix.... :/
*Norman hasn't Neapolitan mastiff changed a lot too?? I ask you cause you probably know more about it...
We lost our GSD to cancer this past March and we were very fortunate enoght that she was nothing like the GSD in this video. However at the dog park that we use to attend there was a male GSD that looked just like the one in the video and I always wondered how he was able to move. The owner paid high dollar for this dog and ended x-raying him for hip dysplasia because of she was concerned on the way he moved (I guess if she would have seen this video she would not have to have gone through all her trouble).
I would like to know how the GSD in the video as well as the one I saw at the dog park can perform the duties that the breed was originally designed to do.
I know this is a Boerboel website but this topic is truly very interesting. Already I have looked up serveral GSD breeders who claim "they are in it for the betterment of the breed" yet their dogs look as the one in the videos. I found this interesting as well.

And now I must really get back to work!
