hi guys my puppy eats only cereal and sadine, indomie and meat, raw chicken, pedigree and puppy milk.this are the only food my puppy eats, please who can help with food that can make my puppy fat and tall please guys help me out.

Well, first, you can't feed a dog past what it's genetic potential will be.  However, a malnourished dog will potentially not reach his or her genetic potential.  That being said, I surely hope it's just the language difference and you DO NOT want a "FAT" puppy.  No dog should be fat, especially a large breed dog like a Boerboel.  It is not good for their joints or their health in general to be overweight.

Now if you are looking to have your puppy grow (nice and slowly is best) into a well muscled, healthy dog, then a raw, species appropriate diet of meat, bones and organs is best.  I see you are already giving some raw meat which is a good start.  You can skip the cereal and pedigree and milk as these are not meant for a carnivore.  I suggest you join one of the yahoo raw feeding groups for more info on how to properly feed your kitchen wolf!  You can also contact me privately if you wish for more info.

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much how can i get to u?
My name is Heather, I have a 5 month old Boerboel, Cane.  She is a MESS!  I can't imagine not having her, but she is into everything.  I got her when she was 9 weeks old.  She is in her second training program, and is doing very well with it.  We're working towards her canine good citizen (CGC) and then also her therapy dog certificate.  I would love to introduce her to my class, I know they would really open up to her.  I'm a special ed teacher, and have various types of kiddos.  Cane is a big girl (I think), and she knows it.  When we weighed her last week she was 80 pounds.  I don't know if that is average or not, but she's bigger than my other dogs.  I have a shepherd mix, Pun-Kin who is 14, Sadie who's 6, a couple of cats and a bird.  Cane wants to "play" with my other puppies, but they don't want to "play" her game.  I have a couple of friends with other mastiffs and great danes, she has a ball playing with them at the lake.  I would love to chat with others, to get some hints on working with such a head strong puppy.  I'm glad I found this place, I read things from another Boerboel page (which I'm sure some of y'all belong to), but this page seems a little more positive.
We found bully sticks helpful to satisfy our pups need to chew so she wasn't tempted to get into everything.  It is good she has confidence!
Hello! My name is Jessica and I am a complete boerboel lover. I currently live in the chicagoland area and have myself the most amazing dog I've ever owned! :) She's a Centurion Boerboel and I love her with all of my heart. She is currently 2 1/2 years old, turning 3 on halloween. I have been working her since I got her at 4 1/2 months old and got her BH at 17 months. I fell in love with the breed after I met one boerboel who lives around here as well. My first boerboel was a Blackwell dog and I went to Julie Bailey for help with her. We've been good friends ever since and she taught me so much about training. She is also the one who recommended I join this site!
Sorry, I can be long winded about my puppy; I just love her too much!
I posted some videos of my puppy's BH and our warm-up that day.

Hi Shelly, glad to find another Australian BB owner, there arent to many of us here. Anyway my boy Chester is from Ataraxia kennels he is 20mths old, cant believe how alike they are even down to the white on their chests! Was reading that your dog suffers from allergies, so does mine, he was getting a lot of yeast ear infections and really itchy red skin with sores. he also gets itchy rashes under his muzzle. I did a bit of research and have totally changed his diet, his ears seem to be a lot better, he is still a bit itchy in summer but does not have any sores or redness at all and his muzzle is getting better. I totally stopped giving him dry food, no wheat products at all, he has lamb bones for lunch for his calcium intake, roo meat, veges and chicken necks for dinner, I also give him fish oil, rice bran (1tsp) and organic plain yogurt every day and eggs a few times a week, his treats are kangaroo jerky which he loves! I have discussed this with the vet and am doing the right thing, apparently the protein insome  kibbles is very poor quality and this plus the grain fillers they use causes allergies. have also used a eczema, dermititis cream from the health shop and  have noticed an improvement in his muzzle, the stuff from the vet did nothing. Hop this helps.

cheers Saskia

hi, new here. Have you heard of Giant Mullein? It is antiseptic, analgesic, antibacterial--the 3 A's.  I used to use it on goat pox, and a friend told her daughter in the military to use it for a foot condition they couldn't clear easily. It grows most places in the world--just steep leaves in water; good on most skin conditions and not drying like aloe.  Also a good salad addition in the spring when the flowers, yellow ones, are  tender btw.

i have my first boerboel her name is simba we got her from spittv uur. iwill post pics soon. she just turned 6 months old and is so big 85lbs.just nice and solid girl. lol shes been a little crazy but im sure she will come down in time

"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting.  Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy.  First off have you taken her to the vet?  Do they know of the situation?  Have they taken a urine sample?  If your girl has a UTI…"

obsessive Water drinking

Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
