Hey Brady! Was just checking out your pictures of Odin and he is one stunning young man!!! I also noticed you have listed that you're in the SLC, UT area. My family and I live about 30 miles north of SLC and adopted Sampson, our 3.5 year old Boerboel, back in August.

Hey everyone, my name is Brady and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. We own a Boerboel named Odin out of Spitsvuur Uil and Spitsvuur Rani and is great fun. I've posted a bit on the Spitsvuur site but it's pretty dead over there so I thought I'd migrate to Top Boerboel. Love looking at everyone's pictures and hearing about their BB's. Odin just turned nine months and weighed 142 at the vet.
Hi Chrissy.. would love to talk more about the whole prey feeding style and see if it helps. I have sent you a friend request.. it would be awesome to not have to give my boy drugs anymore!!

Corn is only one of the god awful ingredients in kibble, any kibble. Grain free, this free, that free... blah blah blah... If you knew what was in it (and you can search and find out) you would be horrified! I strongly suggest you look into raw feeding (not BARFy style, which includes veggies, which a carnivore doesn't need, but whole prey model style). The changes you will see in your dogs will AMAZE you! Also, I'd recommend more natural means of tick prevention, but that's a conversation for another day! :)
Welcome, and good luck. And as I said, if you are so inclined, feel free to contact me about raw feeding. I would be glad to help.
Hi Shelly, glad to find another Australian BB owner, there arent to many of us here. Anyway my boy Chester is from Ataraxia kennels he is 20mths old, cant believe how alike they are even down to the white on their chests! Was reading that your dog suffers from allergies, so does mine, he was getting a lot of yeast ear infections and really itchy red skin with sores. he also gets itchy rashes under his muzzle. I did a bit of research and have totally changed his diet, his ears seem to be a lot better, he is still a bit itchy in summer but does not have any sores or redness at all and his muzzle is getting better. I totally stopped giving him dry food, no wheat products at all, he has lamb bones for lunch for his calcium intake, roo meat, veges and chicken necks for dinner, I also give him fish oil, rice bran (1tsp) and organic plain yogurt every day and eggs a few times a week, his treats are kangaroo jerky which he loves! I have discussed this with the vet and am doing the right thing, apparently the protein insome kibbles is very poor quality and this plus the grain fillers they use causes allergies. have also used a eczema, dermititis cream from the health shop and have noticed an improvement in his muzzle, the stuff from the vet did nothing. Hop this helps.
cheers Saskia
Hi Saskia nice to meet you :) Your boy is very good looking.. I saw another son of Waldor when we went to Sydney late last year to get Leeroy appraised. His name is Diesel and he is the spitting image of Waldor (who unfortunately has passed away but Craig still has some of his sperm).
Been doing some research into the diet thing for the last few days and have now moved all the dogs over onto a rawfeeding diet. Mix of Kangaroo, Buffalo and Beef with chicken necks and raw bones and have gone out and grabbed them some organic yoghurt this morning to add to the mix. Can only give it a crack and see if it works but the humidity up here doesn't help as it allows infections to take hold pretty quick!
Anyway.. nice to have another aussie on the website.. was starting to wonder if I was the only one here :)

Hi Shelly, I felt the same I thought I was the only aussie, Im sad about waldor dying, I didnt know he had passed away. Is your dog out of waldor? as our dogs are so alike, its like looking at a pic of Chester. Hope the raw diet works, it should as all that proccessed food is rubbish, I was buying Royal canine for a while, its so expensive but he was still having problems. I think the meat products they use in dry food are very poor quality. I buy my food from a local pet food shop who process all the meat themselves, no added nasties. Have done some reading on skin problems and they reckon apple vinegar from the health shop mixed with water and sprayed on the affected areas stops a lot of itching, I havent tried that yet as his skin is pretty good now, u can also use a mix of it for yeast ear infections, as yeast doesnt like the vinegar and wont grow, hence to problem, I will try that next time if his ears flare up. I found all the info through google, I gave him a couple of boneo dog biscuits one day and within 2 days his ears were red and sore so I know for sure its that type of food that sets its of. Anyway good luck with your diet, hopefully it should work. Speak to u soon.

I am very excited for you you Kim! Good luck, and I wish you all the best. Please share photos wneh you can, I would love to see them.
Waiting on my first Boerboel puppy, getting her from Lukus. He sent pictures yesterday so now I am even more excited. She will be 10 weeks old on April 12, 2011 so somewhere around there I am expecting to get her. She is out of Klein Sandfontein Benjamin Komoti X Spitsvuur Daphne.
Hi all,
First time boerboel owner. I have a male 13months old weighs in at 122lbs names Sirus(no not like the singer lol changed the spelling because of that). Got to say i have had a few dogs in the past, but nothing compares to the boerboel. I will uploads so pics soon as i figure out how to use this stupid iphone 4.
Hi Saskia, No Leeroy isnt from Waldor. He was bred by Dandaloo Boerboels and his parents are Ataraxia Hector and Ataraxia Piper. Im sure Chester probably shares some of the same grandsires though as they are very similar. Leeroys Grandsires are Ysterberg Sokket and Ysterberg Laksman.
