Buck is a 14 month old male. He can be quite a wiggle worm when he wants to. Although he is very well behaved with his leash and collar on, he is powerful enough to spin around, and backup, to pull himself out of the collar if he chooses to. It would be more difficult for him to slip out of a harness, so I would prefer to take him out in public with a harness on, for safety. The Dean and Tyler harnesses are gorgeous, but pretty expensive. Can anyone confirm that these are worth the cash? Also, any recommendations for various harnesses you have used with your Boerboel will be greatly appreciated!

Phil, I don't have any experience with the harness you listed, but I used an Easy Walk harness from time to time as a good back up. It's pretty inexpensive and what I like about it is that it's a front clip harness which you can also clip to the collar. There is no backing out of this. Plus it gives you more control than a back clip harness if they get a little too excited and start pulling. I attached a pic so you can get a better visual. Also, a martingdale collar will prevent the backing out. Isn't it amazing how they can manage to back their giant heads out of collars?
Hey, the Martingdale collar is a brilliant idea, and his collar will be replaced with one of these asap. I still want to get him a harness though, but I'm not completely sold on the Easy Walk harness design at this point, although that could change as my research progresses :) Thank you very much for the great ideas!
