Hi everyone, I'm Jens. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I grew up with Boerboels. Over the past few years I have become an admirer of the Black Boerboel and now have my second. The first fell victim to criminal poisoning. Another is on order. I'll not engage in the despicable politics surrounding the dogs.

I'm a dog trainer and see many Boerboels in this capacity. It is great to see some Boerboel owners taking the responsibility of owning a large, powerful dog seriously. I just love interacting with these burly creatures. As is the case with most giants, the gentler you are with them, the more you achieve.

Hi, my name is Margot, and my partner Zach and I have a 2 year old female Boerboel named Leeloo.  I discovered this breed a little over 2 years ago after taking a puppy quiz I found online (after losing my female Rottweiler) to pair yourself with the breed best suited to what you like/want in a dog.  The Boerboel is what it matched me up with, and since I had never heard of it, I started doing some research and became very intrigued with what I was finding out about it.  I found Randy Proffer's website online and he invited me to come meet him, his dogs and see his kennel, so off north I went!  After meeting him and his dogs, I was sold and put down my deposit then, and have been in love ever since!! :)

My name is Eugene currently living in Japan with my wife and three kids.  I joined this site because I'm looking for a new member to add to our family and after doing some research I fell in love with Boerboels.  The challenge for me right now is locating a breeder willing to put him on a flight to Japan.  I also figured I could learn a lot more while reading through everyone's post.

Hi everyone. I have been admiring the Boerboel for years and finally everything fell into place and we welcomed our first baby girl into our home. Her name is Brana, she is almost 5 months old and has been such a blessing to our family. She is growing into a stunning female and we are planning on breeding her as long as she passes all her physiological and obedience qualifications. She is from Proudfoot's Schroeder and Wilby's Kashmere Tigra. We could not be happier with the young adult she is becoming. Since we just got our first girl, breeding will be down the road a bit. We have plans of eventually having a kennel, but we will see where the road leads. I am happy to be a part of your community. I also am a registered veterinary technician, but do not work in the field at this time. All of my career is in surgery, anesthesia, radiology, neurology, and emergency medicine. I love working with animals of all kinds. We also have a Shih Tzu and an American Paint Horse, that concludes our animal family. Our human family is myself, my husband and our 5 year old son. We have quite an eclectic group! Thank you for welcoming me and I look forward to being an active part of the Boerboel community here!

My name is James (Boomer)Harris and I am a city of Richmond Firefighter/EMT with 23 years of service.  My family and I became interested in the Boerboel after the death of our Boxer(Blaze) to cancer at the age of 10. We had our first look at this awesome breed at the appraisal held in Beverdam, VA. My wife, daughter, and myself were impressed with the BB and look forward to adding a BB pup to our family pack in 2013.  We also plan to visit some nearby kennels and maybe some not so nearby as we search for the pup who will best fit in with our family of 6 humans.  I will be the primary caregiver and I am really interested in training a dog for therapy work, where we could visit schools, hospitals, retirement homes etc. to show case this awesome breed and bring some cheer to those who may be confined to long stays in hospitals or group homes.

Welcome James, Your a lucky guy their are several breeders in your area. I commend you for wanting to do therpy work, with a BB your going to have your hands full training them to be calm, also going to need softer, more relaxed pup. Good luck and welcome again. Peace.

Hello, my name is Bob from New Jersey (U.S.).  After years of experience with Dobermans/Rottweilers/Labs, I will soon be getting my first Boerboel.  I have researched this magnificent breed for at least 2 years. I have spoken with countless breeders, and spent many hours reading.  I am traveling to Chicago next Saturday to see the pups.  They will be 33 days old then.  I am getting a male from Rooibos Boerboels.  Breeding is Electric Copper (90.3) x Balkan Toro (94.5).  My experience thus far with Thomas (owner of Rooibus) has been fantastic.  I look forward to meeting him in person next Saturday.  I can't wait until I can post some pictures and some updates from my new puppy!
