Home Of The Rare Breed.
Actually, I found a borzoi in a pound once for a mate. Her name was Nadia, we had to set her leg & she had had probable abuse in the past. She was a really beautiful black and white dog. One day Nadia and Missy, my afghan, got treated to soup bones. I left a large area between their treets, as I was used to doing, but the Borzoi grabbed the other dog's bone and a fight was on the immediate horizon. At that point I had to step in --and it looked like I was going to be turned on, as the dog had esculated.
Out of nowhere, a blur flashed by.
It was an old calico cat that we used to have, named Fluffy by some neighbor kids.
Fuffy ran at the aggressor and sprang unto her side, digging in and hanging on. Once the Borzoi was cat-attacked in my defense, I had little choice but to grow some guts. So I quickly finished the fight of these three before any got hurt. Cat would have been killed of course.
I think it is pretty interesting that cats can be so defensive in protecting a human, and can be trained as well.
I took some pic of my current dog, but they are on a disposable camera still/ hopefully post soon.

Borzoi dogs are very brave indeed, glad that the story turned out without casualties!
The cats can be very courageous, I have a cat with kittens now that manages to actually scare my bb away, and its very funny how a huge dog runs from a tiny cat (hope to take a video one day)
