Home Of The Rare Breed.
I have been a dog breeder, trainer, rescuer, and of course owner. Dogs have played such a large role in my life, I feel that part of my identity is co-owned with my dog pack. In fact my uncle, Red Horse Thunder, a lokata medicine man gave me the name Sunka Canku (shunka Chanku) which is Road Dog in English. All this is said to give a little perspective. I am an admirer of the working dogs. I also feel that the breed Boerboel, which is absolutely a working dog should have a lean hungry look. Athletic and graceful, akin to a Ray lewis, Size power and grace. I often see Boerboels that range from fat to chubby, I think many owners get caught up in the idea that bigger is better. An overweight Boerboel is actually a parody of what the breed stands for. It shortens life, and quality of life.
Man times I find that stating my point of view does not make me many friends. I will keep posting videos and pics. I love this breed and I know that feeding prey model raw with exercise leads to a happy healthy dog which will live years longer than the "average". It is also almost impossible to get an exercised prey model fed dog to be overweight. Thats my thoughts for today thanks for reading

I agree Red Dog!! Max is looking much better after only 8 days Raw! He has lost some of the bloat look and is tightening up.
Thanks a ton for all your help.

When you buy produce like vegetables or grains, or grapes the value should be determined 'by the pound'. When your assessing your dog, it should never be by the pound. It should encompass the health, alertness, temperament and movement/agility among other things. People who judge a dog by the weight of the animal are flirting with animal abuse, even with the best of intentions, they are contributing to the premature injury, disease or death of their animal.
Could not agree with you more!!!
Well said Sunka Canku!
