Boerboel Eye Color

Im concerned about his eye colors. My BB will be here at the end of the month. His eyes look blue/grey to me. What do you think?

My pups eyes looked like that up to three months.. and from reflection u thought even at 4 months they were like that but now they are clear light brown... no worries

Nequia, You will have no worries from Lukas. I called him, emailed him to death for two yrs. He answered every time. I have two dogs from him. Cezanne the Black Female in the pic below. And a male in my profile pic. Both are pure quality. Your baby pup I guarantee you is a ladies man, I can tell by the pic. don't let him milk you. lol! Do the work, Do the training you will have a great dog. We all love BB here, so we can help and/or learn together. Good luck with him. Peace Lee

My puppy is from Spitsvuur Ramkat and Klein Sandfontein Tiida. Mr Lukas, in my opinion is a Great man and truly has a Genuine love for the BB. I have been working with him and a Up and Coming Breeder name Johan. They have made me feel at ease and has always answered all of my questions. Mr. Lukas assured me that his eyes were fine but like any parent, we will always ask others even after we get an answer from a professional.

Also, most breeders that I have researched in SA as well as the USA offer both Breeding quality and Pet quality. With the Breeding quality pups they offer the gurantee that the pup should appraise at 75 and up or they will replace the puppy.

I am new to this breed but I have owned Presa Canario's in the past.

I look forward to building a relationship with other BB owners and breeders to learn as much as I can about the breed. I know that everyone has a opinion which will differ at times but I feel that at the end of the day, we all are here for the love of the breed.

Hey Lee and Nequia,

It's sort of funny, over the years the majority of my personal information has been aquired NOT from SABT standard reading material ( although I did start there ) but through personal conversations with other SA breeders and SA judges/appraisers.... you are correct Lee that the SABT does not indicate anywhere specific on the dog's body for coat color vs. eye color... again my information has come directly from trusted individuals when they have come for appraisals...  it's amazing the things that you learn when you go out for dinner with people and over a good meal and good wine what kind of question and answer game you can have. No problem with your statement Lee...and like we agree on.. a sales ploy sounds like what is afoot here unfortunately... however.. again... according to certain judges/appraisers, at that age EVERY puppy is perfect!

So makes it difficult to see who is who in a litter I guess huh!
