Sorry to hear. This is the bad news, Loosing the dog, like a loosing good friend.

Twice did it myself; once airdale after 9 years and another time rottie after 13 years Ekh.

I am so sad for you, it's especially hard just before Christmas.  We had to put down an old girl of ours just before Thanksgiving.  It is a heartbreaking choice, but sometimes the last loving gift you can give to a beloved pet is easing their path to the other side.  It still hurts though... I feel your pain.  Deepest condolences on your loss, RIP sweet boy.
