Home Of The Rare Breed.
Hello All,
I am looking to replace my worn out tug I bought from Leerburg about a year and a half ago. It was the crunch type of tug that is essentially a gatorade bottle (plastic bottle) within a tug. Does anyone use a tug for play or working their dog? I would love it if you could recommend a good site to get one that will last a few years.
Also, I do not know the difference between the various styles of tugs,
Jute vs Flax vs Suede vs leather,
one vs two handled,
and the reason behind the different thickness, plus the reason behind wanting one that will fit in a pocket.
Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Hey Jon congrats, At this point I would stay with jute is softer on baby teeth. and two handles is better. Mostly working people use tugs early to build drives in pups, thru always letting them win. but you must be careful on your release and make sure pup is not pulling real hard when you release, rock side to side gently to get them to shake and then release and praise is better. Also only outside and not on slippery floors as this can cause joint stress on hips and knees. also don't allow bigger dogs to play tug with pup as they will not allow them to win at all LOL. Good luck and make everything fun. Tugs shouldn't be all time play toy. use rope or other for teething puppies. Peace.
