Boy or Girl?

Hi, I'm new to this community and my family and I are going to be purchasing our Boerboel puppy sometime this winter. We have three little girls ages 5,3, and 16 months. We have put a lot of thought into female or male and which one would be a better fit for our family but we still can't decide. I was hoping by coming here that you guys would be the best to answer that question for us! Thanks so much in advance and I look forward to becoming a part of this community!

Welcome Kelly, we are very glad to have you here!  Congrats on your beautiful girls, sounds like you have your hands full.  As far as choosing a male or female we have a New Boerboel Owners group that has a post called Male vs. Female Guide.  It will help in making your decision, and I would also talk with others here.  Just curious how many people will be involved on the challenge of raising your new pup?  Will this be the first large breed dog you have owned?  I ask this because in no time your puppy will be much bigger than your kids.  You will soon have a excited puppy trapped in a large dogs body whos not aware of his size.  I also have three kids 10, 2, and 2 months, and it has been a challenge thats for sure.  I wish you all the best, and look forward to talking to you more.

ein junger BB ist teilweise Chaos pur. Allein das Gewicht des Hundes mit seiner Tolpatschigkeit . Ein BB will da sein wo seine Menschen sind, das kann Probleme geben mir den Kindern. Dafür sind sie noch nicht standfest genug.

Welcome to the site. Lots of good people here. Marco is right on all counts. I would take that advice to heart. I just have this to add. A bb is not for the first time owner. For that matter it's best if you have had dominant breed experience.  The next step after you decide in the sex is to make sure you pick a good breeder. You will find that if bred right and raised right, a bb is a very stable and loyal  guardian. As with all dominant breeds, they will all go through those phases. How you handle them during those challenging times will determine how they will be fir the rest of their time with you.
