Forgive me if this has been posted before but Brodie has developed an habit of chewing his back leg like its itching. I'm not sure if it was due to switching him to kibble for short while when I had to travel out of town and leave him in a doggie hotel. He's back on raw but the chewing is still going on, not all the time but when he gets board or is in his crate. I'm attaching a picture for reference. Has anyone seen this before and how did you stop or correct it. If I need to get him to the vet for some meds then off we go.
Thanks in advance!

Just for the sake of informing the forum, figured out what was going on with Brodie's leg. Turns out it was a stress issue that dogs develop when they are stressed. We had to travel out of town for my son's surgery and he was in the dog hotel for 10 days. Apparently he developed this habit when he was there but now that he is back and in the swing of things at home he has stopped and the mark is going away.
Hi Gene, We also had a dog that did that on his back leg..you are correct , they tend to start it when they are bored or stressed. Our vet says it becomes an issue because the wound seeps a syrupy sweet substance that releases an endorphin high. Good luck and hope you can clear it up
