Home Of The Rare Breed.
Well the newest member of my family should be arriving next week, and I have one more question for the experts out there. I know that stairs are harmful for a growing pup, and yet my home is two stories.
How did you guys handle the little things like where he/she sleeps, following up/down, did you carry or support while transiting?
Is it OK for them to slowly walk down and not bounce with support or does it not matter and avoid them all together?
At what age can I stop worrying, (The dogs age for the comedians out there)?
What are some strategies to avoid future injuries?
Thanks,
Gene

Hey Gene Welcome and congrats on getting your pup. First off you can stop worrying at 5 or 6 months of age with slippery floors, at this age the muscles are strong getting strong enough to keep hip joints in their socket. 12 weeks or so is ok to start climbing steps just in a orderly fashion to prevent slipping or jumping. they love steps and once you start they won't want to stop just like little kids. lol Good luck Just take it slow and play on grass or rugs indoors. Peace.
