reverse sneezing

Out of the blue, our boerboel Mabel started reverse sneezing the last couple of days.  Has anyone experienced this with their boerboel?  We live in Florida and it could be allergy related.  I did a bunch of research and will keep an eye on her.  I just thought it only happened with flat faced dogs????  She is perfectly normal otherwise.

Hi Leah,

I live in Florida also and yes allergies are running rampant.  You can try giving her a Benadryl 25mg per 25lbs (My 110lb Saint Bernard gets 4 per day) to help if it seems to be bothering her.  Between the allergies and the unbarable heat I am most definitely looking forward to winter!

Thank you so much for your response!  We can't wait for the winter as well....it has been rough!  We have Benadryl in the house and will monitor her.   So far she seems to have a mild case where she wheezes a couple of times then stops.  It just freaked us out because it never happened before and she is a year and a half.

Well this happens to one GSP mix i have sometimes.. I'll ask my vet tomorrow to see what she says... It doesn't worry me cause it's something that doesn't happen that much.

Our vet had us put her on benadryl for a few days and it totally cleared up.  That meant it was allergies.  Lots of crazy stuff blooming here in Florida.  Thank you for all your support!
