Midwest EBBASA Breed Standard Training and Appraisal

The EBBASA is looking to setup an event for the Midwest states in July.  They have asked us to help organize the event for them  This is a great opportunity for all boerboel owners, and those interested to come take part in!  You do not have to be a EBBASA member in order to have your boerboel appraised.  The EBBASA will also be rolling out some new things, that everyone will be excited to learn more about!  At the moment Chicago Illinois is looking like a great center point to meet up.  In order for this event to take place, the amount of interest is needed.  Please respond letting us know if this is something you would like to be a part of.  If you have any questions or concerns about the event feel free to list here as well.  More info will be available very soon!

Date & Time

July 9th at 9am to July 10th at 4pm

Location Update!

Erickson Woods

More Info!  With permission to post from James.

FEES:

EBBASA membership:

First rule: Breeders and owners who bring their dogs for appraisal NEED NOT be members of EBBASA. They may belong to any group or association but will simply pay more if they are not EBBASA members. I don't care if new members join at the event....and they will still pay the same discounted rate as any other member pays as long as they pay their subs first.
First year Annual Membership for New Members:  $65
Annual Membership for Existing Members:  $50

Appraisal:

The highest number of dogs that I appraised in a day was 40. Lets hope we don't get more than that otherwise we might finish late!!
All owners must bring copies of their dogs' registration documents and any health certification. They dont need to bring orginal documentation as I need to bring the copies back home with me. The documentation can be of any organisation as long as we can see the ancestry clearly. I know we might have challenges with some of the US registries but lets face that hurdle when we get to it.

Non-members:

Regular USA Appraisal (paid in advance):  $115 for the first dog, $100 for the second dog of the same owner and $90 per dog thereafter
Regular USA Appraisal (paid after cutoff date 2 weeks before event):  $130

Members:

Regular USA Appraisal (paid in advance):  $100 for the first dog, $85 for the second dog of the same owner and $75 per dog thereafter
Regular USA Appraisal (paid after cutoff date 2 weeks before event):  $115

If there are puppies to be evaluated, lets also set a reasonable fee (such as $30) that would attract breeders to bring their dogs. If you feel that we must make a further adjustment, please let me know

I thought the dates where the 12 and 13th!!!!!!

what is going on? when did it change?

Hello Gillian the dates have always been the 9th & 10th, which is on the weekend.  The only thing that was not confirmed at one point was the location.  The location of the appraisal which is on the 9th will be at Erickson Woods.  The 10th will be the training course for those who want to take it.  It will be held at Midhad's house, who should be posting the address for those who would like to attend.
We are are erickson woods and no one is here? Any one have any suggestions?
Claudette, they are on the I 94 side park off Willow Rd. Hope you find it. if not private chat with me and I'll give you his number.

oh we were in the back...it was a wonderful show but we gave them a suggestion to make a sign next time as you had to walk through the field, over the bridge to the pond!!! So Leon (who rescued 2 lost canadian ladies the night prior to the show!) called on his cell phone and that is how we found out where the show was located in the park.  Met lots of wonderful people, and it was nice to put faces with names on the computer!  So kudos to those who set this show up, the only thing I would change is a sign pointing the direction to go to get to the show ring !!!!
I would like to thank all the people who showed up and made this happen. It was such a nice outing and everyone who showed up contributed to make it an awesome event. Since this was our first time organizing something like this there were little mistakes on my end, but I learned from it and will do better next time I promise. Thanks to all who participated all my mistakes were corrected and the event was still a success. This was a really good example of everyone working together and I am so happy with how everything turned out. Special thanks to the Mendoza family who really stepped up and helped with calculating the scores and organizing all the paperwork. We also had very special visitors from far away. Coming all the way from Canada to be part of this event shows how much you care for the breed. Thank you Leon for rescuing ladies from Canada, without you they wouldn't have found the place and I would have missed meeting my favorite boerboel Inferno. You are a true hero Leon and I cannot thank you enough. I will post more photos soon,

Midhad,

Thanks for taking on the responsiblity to organize this, it would not have happened without you.  Give my thanks to your wife for taking care of all of us yesterday at the appraisal class aswell.  Johan was a pleasure to talk with and a excellent source of information.

Yes definitely thank you to those who put this on!  It was extremely educational and I'm so glad that Johan could spend one on one time with everyone to show them how to evaluate their own Boerboels..To all the people we met, you were fantastic and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to travel again to visit you all! Kudos to you all for a fantastic first show!!!

"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting.  Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy.  First off have you taken her to the vet?  Do they know of the situation?  Have they taken a urine sample?  If your girl has a UTI…"

obsessive Water drinking

Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
