How has your boerboel changed your life? What about those around you?  What changes did you have to make?  What changes did your boerboel make for you? :) Whats your schedule like due to having a boerboel?  I would love to hear from you all.  I know many of you all have more than one so I'm sure there are some great things to be said.  Please share with us, as I look forward to reading them.

zephy was pretty easy to be honest. she is very laid back and as dogs go very calm. she just goes with the flow. the other two dogs are a completely different story and they are very good at stirring up even the calmest of boerboels. zephy did eat her share of computer cords when she was younger, i think the last count was at 4 or 5 lol, while i am typing this goblin ran off with a pair of my shorts not really a big surprise. i would like to say i am a better house keeper but i would be lying thru my teeth. i have learned to hide my coffe when i get up cause min pins and caffeine do not mix well.

as for changes in my life because of zephy i can not say schedule is much different,  but i now have the desire to train more and get more serious about things not because i have to but its really just fun to work with her, with other breeds that dedication was not there.

Hmm with Kenzo it has been fun. Nothing could be left on the floor at all that could fit in his mouth and these dogs have large mouths.  He was and still is a dog vacume, everything from a dust ball to screwdrivers.  You would think I starve this dog, who currently eats 5lbs or more in raw everyday.  Some family members dont visit as much, they are afraid of being eatin, which is a good thing by me :)  I have purchased more toys for him than I have my kids.   He moves furniture on a regular basis either by moving past something or laying down.  He will laydown in the living room floor and he will reposition the couch, the recliner chair, and anyone in them all in one sitting.  I change my clothes more often than I use to, cause he loves to drink water then rub his mouth all over me.  When I am walking him he manages to stop traffic in the middle of the road for people to ask questions about him.  When I take him for a check up they vet automaticly calls for two other people to help with him just to check his ears and eyes.  The thing is hes good with that kind of stuff and does not even need it.  He likes to wake me up early, I am still trying to get up before him.  Ok very tired and this is all just some random things will try to add more later when I am well rested.
My life has been changed by a lot!!  I have never had such a trouble free and well behaved puppy, ever!  I know I've probably just jinxed myself but Caesar has never been in any kind of trouble at home.  Never chewing anything he's not supposed to, he learns what he can and cannot do in very short order.  He is my shadow.  I miss him when I don't take him to work with me as he is always right behind me as I go about work...no matter how sleepy he is.  At the moment on walks he does not even need a leash as he stays that close to me.
I forgot to add that I never have to to the toilet alone anymore! Lol!!

I grew up with dogs. When the Boerboel came into my life, I realized how special dog. When Boerboel look in your eyes, he knows what you want to tell him.

It's the perfect dog

Thanks for sharing, anyone else have anything to add?
Well i get up about 1.5 hours earlier to get him at least 1hour of exercise either walking or bike riding, and about 45min to 1hour at night before he eats, needless to say i love him and miss him very much when he's not with me. i could honestly say he's taught me a lot about being patient LOL. I'am really lucky because he'a got a excellent temperment wich makes it very easy, in closing i couldn't imagine not having a Boerboel in my life, he also makes me laugh!

"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting.  Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy.  First off have you taken her to the vet?  Do they know of the situation?  Have they taken a urine sample?  If your girl has a UTI…"

obsessive Water drinking

Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
