I just recently got my first Boerboel, Bear.  He is an absolute love and I couldn't be happier with him!  I did notice the other day that the toes of his front feet seem to curve inward when he is standing on them/walking/running.  He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all - it hasn't stopped him from running around or playing.  I just noticed that they look somewhat crooked, or not as straight as other dogs' toes.  The trainer that I am working with said that he thinks it is something that Bear will grow out of, but that I should check with the vet just to be safe.  I have an appointment for Bear on Monday anyway, but I was hoping that someone could give me some advice as to whether or not this is something that is serious or something that he will grow out of.

Any pics?

I'm not sure if I am overreacting or being paranoid, I just want to be sure

Second pic doesn't look to bad.  When he picks them up walking do they turn in like 3rd. pic.? I would add some good joint supplements with msm, to help with joint repair if their is a injury there. But Deff. a Vet trip and most likely Xrays. How old is he now?

I see what you mean. He looks ding toed. I give my pup joint supplement and vitamin c (buffered) just the same to be safe. But, I agree with Lee about bringing it up to the vet and I would also ask the breeder about it.

Hi Alyssa:

As my experience we've got the same problem in my dog's young hood. It's could be happened at about 6-8 months old when body is growing faster than lags. In this case you need to decrease exercises to him. And you you can use Osteobioflex which you can buy in the nearest pharmacy. And as soon as all of symptoms are gone down - will continue regular exersises.

"Hello Kim welcome and thanks for posting.  Sorry to hear you having trouble with your puppy.  First off have you taken her to the vet?  Do they know of the situation?  Have they taken a urine sample?  If your girl has a UTI…"

obsessive Water drinking

Our 12 week old Boerboel wants to drink water - she has had a urinary infection that we have been treating.. but this is crazy... she searches for mud puddles, rain, condensation... drinks until she is miserable and burping then lays around and pees... potty training is near impossible as she is more interested in water than life... ANY IDEAS? See More
