My first BB Bella was a train wreck, but my second Axel is a joy. He is almost 15 months old and although he hasn't reached maturity yet he has a great temperament and is healthy so far. He is from working lines and I got him from David Harris in Kansas. He can go forever on walks, loves the car and relaxes when he is at home. He gets along great with other dogs, cats and my pet ferret. He is friendly to other strange dogs and a joy to train. He has a medium drive I would say. My first BB would get winded walking around the block. His breeder breeds for temperament and health and looks are last. He was relatively inexpensive as BB's go being $1000 and I paid $350 to have him flown to MASS. Good luck in your search and make sure you do your homework. I wouldn't pay that much attention to appraisal scores as they don't give you the whole picture on the dog. There are a lot of BB's being bred with very poor temperaments and poor nerves which I ended up with the first time. Good luck!
No problem Kenny. I chose him because he came highly recommended. He is also one of the first breeders to breed BB's here in the USA. He is a farmer and only has a few litters a year. He makes his living as a farmer not a breeder. He breeds for temperament and health and admittedly doesn't give a rats ass about looks lol....He told me that. He breeds them to be under 150 lbs. for working ability, agility and healthy joints. He doesn't take deposits. When the litter gets to be around 3 months old (he keeps them longer) he will assess them and decide who is a good fit. I didn't have a hard time getting in touch with him but many people have complained about that. He works on the farm late hours. I will post his website. You can visit him or give him a call when you are ready. I met another member on here Dan Audet who has my Axel's litter mate Rascal. He is a dog trainer. His first BB had aggression issues also. He chose Harris for the same reasons as I did. We both had the good looking dogs with the aggressive natures the first time and it is tough having a dog like that that you have to tie up or put away when you have company. Here is David's link to the website.
