Update on the pups:
Ruger is almost one now and I feel like this past month he has been growing like a weed! Very tall! Unlike our female Kierra, Ruger was not taken to basic training classes ( training was done at home) and I am starting to see the difference. Finding difficulty in getting him to listen to me especially when Jon is not around and extreme hyper activity at meal time. We have started making him sit and lay before eating which seems to help him calm down, but only time will tell. He is definitely a mamas boy! He loves to cuddle and lay around when he isn't antagonizing Kierra for attention. When I am home alone Kierra seems to be the front runner in checking the perimeter and doors, etc. while Ruger will literally sit on me with his chest out if he feels there is a threat of any kind. I am trying to do more treat training which seems to work well :) but he is one stubborn Boerboel! Growing fast and becoming such a beautiful boy!
Kierra is also doing well.... Really coming into her own. Now two year old, she is VERY confident and knows when to be stubborn and when to back down. She is very protective, especially when Jon is not home( anyone see a pattern? I'm told I am a pushover), but she also knows her limits. She seems to almost try and set an example for Ruger which I thought was very interesting. I know that being her mama it sounds biased, but she is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen. Day after day she surprises me with her wit and intelligence.
Both dogs are more than I could have ever asked for.... Protective, loving, patient and SMART! (We now open sliding glass doors whenever we want! Yay!)
I will update some pictures soon!
